I shot this one yesterday but it was just a couple of hours shy of wednesday, so whatevers. Got to hug that camera more often from now on. I've always been into fire (pyromanical tendencies...) and toying around using lights, so think I'll shoot more of this kinda stuff.

Today we dwelled into the snowy world of eternal darkness. Due to it being cloudy and due to finding nothing fascinating to photograph, I toyed with long exposure and a flashlight, not a fleshlight this time. More pics on my Flickr account!

Picture for 2nd February.

Last summer I took up to growing a few chili branches. I did well and harvested maybe 10 finished pods. Doesn't sound like much, but the growing season continues when it's already freezing outside and I don't use indoor lights. For reasons I don't completely understand even myself, never tasted anything from the final product. Safe to say that I'm not a chili enthusiastica, I just think they're handsome to look at, as plants! :) Chilis grow strong stems, so here they are still standing out there in the cold.

Ohtakari today. Snowing ceased for a while, but it was windy. There is hope for stable ice formation to form -- and we need that for snowkiting. So cum coldness, cum!

Icicles on a rock. Went jogging and ran to this wholeheartedly intriquing and absolutely mystical formation, which, by the way, looks way better in nature than through the lens of my cellphone. The forest was gorgeous today.

Wednesday, a rollercoaster of a day. On the bright side, our baby took her first real steps today! Woosh!

This event is called Central Ostrobothian skiing relay. It sounds wrong when you type it in english; it's not a very international event. It's more like the gathering of local wood dwellers. That's a bit over the top, though. In an event held in Kannus today, the weather was pleasant and the relay itself wasn't any boring. I have participipated in this relay a few times, but it's been 16 years since I last did it.

Back to more artistic expressions next week.
